    Reloaded the 395gr 45-70 hollow base @usmcpmi sent me. 24gr 5744.
Also did a pile of 50-70 with 460gr soft lead, and 55gr of 2F holy black. I hate clean up afterwards, but this is the tack driver load, very large tacks. Pigs are hanging around the stock tank every morning. Going to give them lead poisoning

Loaded 150 75gr Hornady BTHPs for the Valkyrie and 100 rounds of Sierra 65gr SPBTs for the .223 Savage 110. Up next, 150 68gr Hornady HPBTs for the same Savage. All with H335. They have been shooting under MOA.

Where did you find the 65gn Sierra btsp bullets ?

I bought them several years ago.
I had actually bought them for my hunting AR and an AR with a heavy .223 Wilde barrel. Intended for hunting.. best groups I get are about 1.5MOA. Turns out my Savage 110 shoots under MOA with the same load. 24.3 grns of H335.
I have seen them in stock some places though. Try Academy, Murdochs and Mid South Shooters Supply. I think I have seen them there. Online.

Thanks, I ran out of those a year or two back. I like to use them in my dads old .223 I rebarreled.

H335 is what I used for them too. I will check online again for them. They’re still unobtainium where I am locally.

Made my grandson a batch of 45-70, using a 300gn Hornady HP and 49.5 gn of IMR 3031 with a CCI lrp.

His rifle seems to like it & he does too as it’s on the lighter side of the recoil spectrum.

The hollow base 45-70, 24gr 5744. . At 50 yards looked like micky mouse all touching, could cover the group with a 50 cent piece. At 100 yards it opened up to a 1.5 inch group. Tried at 200 I was sweating by then so I will; blame the shitty group on sweat in the eyes. I have 5 left I will give it a go tomorrow morning.

Shot the last 5 at 200. and the new mold came in today. Got the free shipping and 10% off.
The group was fair. 3 in a 3.5" group. Then 2 flyers. Both high both right. I am thinking its me.
Time to get the lead out, and cast some. I still need to see how they work in the rolling block.

Ok. So the ones I sent had been sized to .459.
They should drop out of the mold at .460. You might try shooting some without sizing and see if that helps the group.
Also, play with the powder charge. A little more or less can make a big difference. And the ones I sent were cast with wheel weights and had a hardness od around 12 -14. Softer lead might help too....
