Ordered another MP mold, they are the best IMO, .311 140gr HP GC no lube grove. Figure it should work nice in 300 Blk, 7.62x39, and maybe see how fast they can go in .308 Win and smoke some yotes.

Had NOS 788 in 7-08 re-stocked and bedded in Boyd's. Don't have any 7-08 brass in any quantity, but have plenty of M852 OFB, so off to brass prep work. Resize, trim, skim turn necks, resized to 7-08, and shot them.

140 VLD appears to be the near perfect match for mag length ammo and still have the boat tail junction above the shoulder.

Turned necks in one of the lathes. Mandrel is turned 0.309 in place for a push to fit for the case. Using a shell holder, case is pushed into the mandrel by the tailstock to a shoulder, then back off a little to allow the case spin with mandrel and not drag on the shell holder.

Run the cutter to a predetermined spot manually, then engage the drive to make the finish cut towards the chuck.

Here is a short video of how the turning goes. This was taken in my other lathe prepping some LC Match.

Moving into the 21st century (or at least catching up to the 20th!) Last week I finally bought an auto powder charge, and now I ordered an annealing machine. I’ve been “ghetto” annealing with a small propane torch on a stand, and a small cordless drill with a socket. Does the job, but what a pain in the butt! Ordered a Burstfire Gen 2. It has a case prep station built in, which I don’t need, but it was the same price as some of the others so I figured I’d save some space and get the 2 in 1.

Went ahead and ordered a couple more boxes of Lapua 6mm creedmoor brass. It’s one of the cases they’ve suspended production on, so I figured it’s now or who knows! Annealer should be here tomorrow and I’ve got quite a bit of 6.5 creedmoor that needs done so I can resize it.

Need to develop a load for 223 subsonic.

If you have a subsonic load that you use for 223 with a can or without a can, let me know what you're doing. Powder, bullet weight, can or no can. Need details please.

Deemus, I am stating the obvious because it was less than apparent to me when I figured it out. 22lr subs for subsonic 223 if you adapt the chamber.

I received my .44 dies in the mail so I set them up over the weekend, adjusted for proper seating depth and light crimp and loaded 2 boxes of test ammo. Now I am waiting for the rain to stop so that I can go to the range to test them out.

    Gunz are icky.
Prepped out 300+ .44 Special cases. Deprimed, resized, length checked, belled, reprimed. They're now ready to load. Have to lube up a mess of bullets yet.
I'll get to it in a few days.
Going to talk to a guy about trading into a .30-30 tomorrow. We will see.

At lunch today I continued with load development for my 300wm

Shot some decent groups with 175gr LRX and H4831SC so I decided to mess with seating depth since it is barnes.

Barnes only has imr 4350 in their load data but I have H4350. Max load is 69.5 so I decided to do a test shot at 70gr lol

That round was pissing hot and blew a giant hole in my test tree. Primer was pretty flat so I decided to back out to 67 - 69 in .5 increments

Getting down to a few weeks before me and the sako are wheels up and on our way to SA
