    Gunz are icky.
Tinkering around with some .45LC loads. They need to be on the lower end for use in the cowboy guns.
I have a large supply of copper plated lead bullets I want to use up. 250grn FP
Not shooting in competition. Just informal target practice.
So I may have to go below reloading manual recommended charges to get the pressure down where it's safe in them.
So far everything I've tried is just a tad too hot.
    Will continue to experiment.

Have you looked at the Sierra loads? They have 14kpsi and 30kpsi loads. I loaded some a while back off of the 14 k charts, I used Accurate #7, they were pretty tame.

    Gunz are icky.
Just finished up casting some bullets.
    Haven't counted them out but about ~400 .357 150grn RNL, ~200 .429 240grn RNL, ~150 .452 230grn RN.
After everything cools off I'll put things away.

I loaded up 100x 00 buckshot. Gonna trim some more wads and load up another 100 tonight. Now I need to find a wad for the 000 buck loads.

Also picked up an 8# jug of ramshot TAC from a friend. Gonna load some 308s real soon, too. I have brass fully prepped and several hundred bullets.

I have the next 3 days off. I don’t have anything loaded, but I have 100 pieces of 6.5 creedmoor ready to do something with. Trying to decide if I want to continue trying to get those damn Barnes bullets to group, or say to hell with it. Maybe I’ll just go fishing!

I’m not educated on shotgun shell reloading, what does trimming the wads do?

I started making an insert for my "M" die for the .45 Colt. I want it to end up no smaller than .452. Most of my bullets are sized at .453-ish.
Turned it down to .455, tried to take it the rest of the way with emery cloth, was taking too long, so I thought I'd "dust" it off with the lathe tool...... one very light pass, now it mic's at .450..... sigh.
Will cut the end off and try again.... all-thread is relatively inexpensive

Wads have petals on them to make a cup to hold the shot. The buckshot I'm loading is too big and pushes on the wad and leaves bulging on the finished shell. So, I'm trimming the petals off to make room for the shot. It's annoying but doesn't take too long I suppose.

Since we are on the shot shell topic, has anyone loaded or seen any load data for "buck&ball" loads? Basically one 12 ga. ball and 3 - 00 buck shot? Should be 1.5 oz. load.
Just wondering if the shot goes on the bottom or the top? I'm thinking bottom...
    But what do I know?

3 buck. Then the slug. Then 3 more buck for good measure.

But seriously, I think it would be worth trying both ways and see which gives you better patterns.

Found some primers, at academy of all places! Haven't seen them there in a long time. Nature is healing!

They only had Winchester small rifle and were $8.99 per 100, not great not terrible.

Wiped away the cobwebs and fired up the Lee Drip-O-Matic. Cast about 30# of sprues and wrinkled bullets but eventually started casting Target grade bullets for a 25-20 WCF that I’ll use for load development. I “think” they’re about 105 gr in 25:1 alloy. Should be a lot more fun at the Spring Schuetzen match than the much heavier 38-55.

I think that is right...3 buck then the ball on top...
Adding 3 more buck on top will push the load weight to 1 3/4 oz. So might not do that...
Plus the brass cases are only 2 1/2" long, might be a little cramped.
But what the hell...I'll mock one up and see if it will fit!
Next load I'm going to try will be 2 - 12ga. balls connected with a length of paino wire.
Read somewhere that was an old school anti-personnal round.
