It’s a favorite of mine. I’m about to spin a new tube up for for it. I have had this one going on 5yrs now and besides round count it has some specs I will change.

Loaded 50 up today. 90gr Berger VLD over a healthy dose of RL23 that runs them right at 3100fps. Second pic is a 6mm creed with a 115 dtac for comparison.

I'm did a little hemming and hawing over how long it's been since I reloaded any cartridges. At least deer season has been a good excuse but I need to get back on that horse asap. I have a mountain of 308 cases that are almost ready and I need to churn out some 223 and 9 ammo ahead of the better weather coming.

I sorted a pile of brass over the weekend and made me thing I should use some of the .45 AARP brass - since I have quite a few bullets. Goddammmmit - at least 25% of that is small primer. Cleaned, de-primed, sized, belled and sorted a couple of hundred rounds. Loading primers tomorrow might make me more irritated.

Anybody want some .270 brass? PM me if you do. I've apparently collected quite a pile of it.

I’ve purposely NOT loaded 45acp for that very reason.

Mine are mixed up and I have a hard time telling them apart.

I didn’t know they made a 90 grain bullet in .224. I guess with the popularity of the 22 creed, bigger bullets were inevitable. I just loaded up a bunch of 115 DTACs for my 6mm too. This weekend wi be the first time I’ve been able to really stretch the rifle out, I’m hoping they do well. They’re great out to 300, but the load I’m running is just over 40 grains of H4350 and chrono s at about 2930. When researching load data, 41.5 at 3,000 fps seemed to be what most were using, but I only have about 150 rounds down the barrel, and that low node seems to be shooting pretty good for me, so I didn’t push it.

I've got several hundred flat-base 100-grain .224 bullets. Really heavy stuff is out there in every bore diameter if you look hard enough.

They are really popular in service rifle being single fed in straight 223. The popular creed bullets tend to be the 75-80gr range running around 3400ish. I’ve got a 7 twist in this gun so I’m limited due to rpm’s. Next tube will Be a 8 twist. Even running these slow if I let it get too much carbon in mine it will blow 1 out of every 15-20 up so I clean every 250 or so rounds.

2950fps is my happy place with DTAC’s every gun I’ve ran them in which is about 8 or 9 now they shoot great. If it’s a standard 183 freebore seat the dtac at 2.80 off the top for oal and load in the 2900-3050 range they will shoot.

I have some 78g Berger copper bullets if anyone is interested. 200ish I bought them for 224 Valk, but have decided to use 90g instead.

I broke out the lead pot, and cast a few bullets for the .357's last night.... more of just a refresher session. I had a 125 gr lee mold that I had not used yet, so I tried it out...
And I had found a single cavity Lyman mold for the 358429 bullet that I wanted to try.... good news with it is that it casts "large".... the few that I cast mic'd at about .362 or so.... That's good.... I can size them down to whatever I want.
The 125's mic'd at .358. We'll see how they work.... I haven't slugged my barrels yet to see what they need.

Fun day, fired up my new Mag 25 pot, my new Noe 30 cal 150 gr mold and started casting. While taking a break from casting I was powder coating what had been cast. Didn't count but got a bunch done.
