I'm in agreement I need to try 10mm and see if it's really that bad.

I don't think it is. It was pretty mild shooting Moon's 6" Kimber. It has more bite in the 3" GP100 but wasn't horrible. We were shooting the Sig ammo which runs at 1250 fps.

That GP100 turned me into a 10mm fan though.

10mm isn’t bad in a steel frame 1911. It’s not like the difference between 38SPL and 357 magnum

Even in a polymer gun, they are far less snappy than a lot of people would think. Light loads (40 S&W level) almost feel like 9mm. The hottest loads I have been able to cook up are still less snappy than my 3" 357 loaded with 125gr bullets at 1300 fps.

I really can't see why the FBI didn't keep it. It's so versatile.
