    Hi,

    I am new to the site and I did look around the forums before i posted.

    Are there any shooting ranges that are open to the public that do not require membership in waco, TX?

    i tried out Chandler's shooting range in Valley Mills, TX and it is a good range with very friendly staff. But the location is a good 30 minutes away from me.

    i was hoping for something a bit closer

    let me know!

    thanks

    Webers Weber's Outdoors Troy Texas Proshop, Rifle and Pistol Range, Skeet Range, 5 Stand is south of Waco in Troy. It is probably not much closer than VM, and I have no idea on their membership policy. They do have an excellent store in Temple, not far from their range. Besides that, I don't have much experience on their range.

    Tiger Valley Tiger Valley has a 1000 yard range in Waco, but I haven't been there either. Their long range open course under "courses" seems pretty cool.

    Hope this helps, but I haven't shot at either one so you are on your own.

    You can try Central Texas Rifle and Pistol club, Central TX Rifle and Pistol Club - a non-profit gun range since 1948 I have been a member for years. Again it may not be any closer that Valley mills, its in China Spring, but it is a good range. We have record enrollment, and you may have to be put on a waiting list.
    However, If you are in Waco I might be able to take you out there to show you around and do some shooting. Just PM me if you have more questions about the range.

    Man, i wish there was something like Tiger Valley around here, would love to use their 1000 yard rifle range and attend some of those events.
