It's one thing to fight for your rights.
Purposely looking to start the fight when you are wrong is another. The left knows they are wrong and don't care. They want the Constitution ignored or preferably done away with. They know they have no chance of the second method, so they are trying to get away with the first one. They are hoping that if they get the laws passed that they can get the majority to go along because it will be "the Law". They will spin it as" if it wasn't legal we would not have passed it". And they are hoping that most will go along and not buck the system.

Yup, one wrong move, by either side, and things could get ugly in a hurry. At this point, I'm kind of wishing I was younger and in better health. I don't want my kids to have this fight. And I damn sure don't want them to have it without me to back them up.

They want the Constitution ignored when it does not fit the narrative they are pushing. When it does fit they they want it followed to the letter.

If you watched the House Impeachment of Trump you would have seen them invoke "The Constitution" hundreds of times and every time they did it made me throw up a little.

The "Left" believes that they have the "people" behind them in the gun control and the social justice (read gay rights, confused genders) issues. They see Virginia as the perfect place to begin the test of the take over based on the fact they managed to seat radical Democrats and gain voting control with the balance of power to the socialist liberal agenda.

Consider the Bloomberg ads he is running here in Texas. He and his backers are hammering the beat NRA and antigun theme hard. Think about that, those ads are here in Texas now, before he gets the Democrat nomination. Sort of a win - win, no matter if he gets nominated or not they are beginning the conditioning of the population here in Texas.

The takeover has begun in earnest. Khrushchev was right, feed communism in small doses.

I was thinking the exact same thing. If you want a lesson on Congress teaching the nation to ignore the Constitution, just hit the replay button on that farce "debate" from last night.
And remember: "no one is above the law".

I don't think the situation in Virginia will reach that stage in the next decade. After that, who knows?

This is going to get ugly if the leftists keep pushing it. I don't really want to see things get ugly.

It has already become ugly. Though I wasn’t around in the 60s, I believe there is a concerted effort to ‘prove’ Americans are as divided, if not more so than then.

Unfortunately, the division is on ideas and concepts that can’t be quantitatively proven. If there’s one thing the D political party has done effectively, it’s been to concentrate, control, and deliver a narrative that there is only one truth. That is what dictators do. Then add to it a large dose of zealotry.

Today, there is not much philosophical difference between the D party writ large and AQ/Daesh and other terrorists...there is but one truth so you must convert or die. And when you do convert, you are still less than human, just not dead (yet).

The Judeo/Christian values (referring to values, not specific religious practices) upon which this country was founded are no longer shared by a majority of the country. Perhaps 1/3 or more of the people reject those values. They want to install hedonism as the state religion. They want to rule the country via an enlightened socialist dictatorship headed by the intelligentsia (e.g., themselves).

And when a country no longer has a common set of core values, I do not see how it can remain united - much less prosper.

I have on video a member of (US)Congress threatening me with a nuclear weapon.

That was a real eye opener for me.

Yup. And of multiple sitting or recent Democrat government officials and hopefuls at the state and federal level stating objectives to forcible prevent Americans from exercising their Constitutional rights.

Amen, Brother. Well said and my sentiments exactly!!

Old, but, having prepared body, soul and arms, I'm not about to dodge this fight if it comes to it.
