I put a BCM vertical grip (MLOK) on a Geissele rail and I don’t like how much wider it is than the Mk14 rail.

    Anyone have a better option?

Not sure if it's better. But the last build I did, I put a Magpul Handstop & like it. Wasn't sure I would but it feels pretty comfortable. I'd like to get some more panels for the MLOK on the handguard though. You can install it with the 2nd finger weld or swap it for a flat piece that comes in the kit.

    These are great, imo:

I have a Magpul MVG on mine. It looks like it sticks out a quite a bit less than yours, though that may just be a difference in the handguard dimensions. It also probably helps that i have some rail covers directly above it. I like it.

The handguard is a Midwest Industries Slim Line.

The Emissary Handbrake is a great option. The ergonomics are excellent. It's not excessively sized. In terms of functioning as a handstop, it's also not excessively small either so your wrist is in a bit more of a neutral and comfortable position.

Best I can tell, I think it's roughly a half inch thinner in width. It's also about 1oz lighter than the BCM short vert grip.

I've been switching from vertical foregrips to hand stops. I found myself starting out shooting gripping a vertical foregrip and then switching to using that foregrip as a stop out of comfort. A dedicated hand stop makes me start out in a more comfortable hold. But that's me, I don't speak for all.

Ordered one, thanks. Only OD Green cerakote was available. Generally don’t buy cerakote stuff because my hands will eat through it but I’ll give it a shot. If it ends up black I’ll be fine with that on this build.

If you don’t like the color, you can paint it. I wanted to try something different so I painted the textured part of my Emissary and my B5 grip.

I'd like to try out the Ryker Grip. Although it's supposed to be ergonomically better, I'd hate to pay out $75 on something I don't like.
