That wasn't anyone's intent. I've just seen far too many historical military artifacts destroyed for similar reasons, and I don't understand the logic behind such thinking.

Preserving history is not glorifying the horrors or suffering of it. In fact, it's quite the opposite; ensuring people never forget and more importantly, never repeat them!

Such rationale applies to everything from uniforms to statues...
    My Friend,
Like I said, I could NOT agree with you more!
I am not a uniform collector. That is a subject and field all by itself with far too much to take in. I am just a firearms collector.
I am a mere Museum Conservator specializing in care, repair and preservation of Antique Arms... ONLY. NO uniforms, medals or accoutrements. I have provided my services for many years without charge of any kind, time materials or parts. They cover secure next day delivery.
The only uniform that I have is mine from 12 years in the Navy (1970 thru 81) when I am gone so will that uniform... buried with me. I have no children nor next of kin that is even remotely interested in me. So goes the war.... lol
I must say that thanks to you and so many others this has been a learning experience! In the future I will be very judicious about what I post and careful not to attract the ire of others.
However I do enjoy a lively discussion.
    Take Care, John
