Mariopul is Ukraine's Alamo, and while both fell, it delayed advances and accomplished their missions. It is not always the duty of a soldier to survive or avoid capture, it is to do their duty, which the men in the steel plant did.

Russia is failing in nearly every attempt to advance, bashing themselves against prepared decences without proper air support and actually falling back in places, putting their logistics at risk AGAIN!

And on the broader front:

The total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02 to 18.05 were approximately:

personnel - about 28,300 people were eliminated
tanks - 1251 units,
armored combat vehicles - 3043 units,
artillery systems - 586 units,
MLRS - 199 units,
air defense means - 91 units,
aircraft - 202 units,
helicopters - 167 units,
UAV operational and tactical level - 441 units,
cruise missiles - 102 units,
ships / boats - 13 units,
automotive equipment and tank trucks - 2137 units,
special equipment - 43

Many of the equipment losses can be visually verified, even if Ukraine is perhaps counting loosely and the numbers are 25% too high it is still insane losses the rashists are dealing with.

Many other organizations with a reputation for being correct, and a reputation that depends on being correct, still place the rashist loses as VERY high, so high they are be politically and socially unsustainable.

I am not pro (or anti) Zelensky, but I am anti-rashist invasion of a sovereign nation without just cause. "Nazis" is not a good enough reason.

Do you think Russia was justified in this war (of the start is 2014, you can split your opinion of Crimea)

What do you think Russia's goal in Ukraine is?

Is Russia meeting that goal?

Where do you estimate casualties for Russia to be at?

What will victory look like for Russia? I.e. when will the job be dont enough to be done.
