106.7 used to be the BEST rap station in San Antonio. A lot better than 98.5 The Beat. One day I come out of work and turn my car on and they were playing CHRISTMAS MUSIC.

    IT WAS JUNE.

It stayed X-mas music for a long time so I took it off of my favorites list in my car...

What's the new "style" of 106.7 now?

Don't you just love how they go and change a radio station completely on you with no warning whatsoever?

What, you don't like "World Class Rock?!?"

Basically, it's a regurgitation of KISS, KZEP, and JACK. Well, not so much JACK, which is the lesser evil of all of SA's numerous rock stations.

If I have to listen to the radio, 97.7 KLTO (when I can get the signal) is my first choice. Alternative rock, and you don't hear the same stuff constantly over and over again...

It looks like 92.5 "The Outlaw" will become the SA's new FM Talk station...

'The Outlaw' Becomes 'The Patriot' In San Antonio

    April 14, 2010 at 11:18 AM (PT)

CLEAR CHANNEL TEXAS Country KRPT (92.5 THE OUTLAW)/SAN ANTONIO will flip to Conservative Talk as 92.5 THE PATRIOT at 9a (CT) on TAX DAY, TOMORROW (4/15).

CC/SAN ANTONIO Pres./Market Manager MATT MARTIN said: "It's has been a great run with THE OUTLAW and the TEXAS Country format. It is one of my personal favorites, but 92.5 THE PATRIOT is a perfect compliment to the blowtorch, 1200 WOAI, and fills a need in the market for a second compelling Talk radio station. We have built tremendous partnerships with our clients on 1200 WOAI and TICKET 760. I am excited about this unique opportunity to offer an additional highly qualitatively superior audience solution."

The lineup will feature syndicated personalities like PHIL HENDRIE, Dr. LAURA, MANCOW, MICHAEL SAVAGE, NEAL BOORTZ and CLARK HOWARD. BOORTZ will kick off the new station at 9a (CT).

The new website will be available after the station launches at www.925thepatriot.com.

    there is no "best" rap.

    You are from Texas.

    I am from Washington, D.C.

Two very different walks of life.

I'd say there is no "best" country station. :)

If I have to listen to the radio, 97.7 KLTO (when I can get the signal) is my first choice.

Whats up with that, anyway? That's a really good station but the signal rarely ever comes through without static. Where are they based out of?

Wikipedia says 97.7 KLTO is based out of Cuero, Texas about an 85-90 mile drive east-southeast of SA and south of Gonzales.

Other web sites say it is in McQueeney, but the transmittor is here.

    Here's there coverage map...

So you can see that some parts of SA are on the outer edge of their broadcast range.

Oddly-enough, the station is owned by Univision...

I checked the new 92.5 lineup and they still put Laura Ingraham on delay - at the same time Rush is on WOAI. Thank goodness for XM so I can hear her live.
