Nope. In that part of the world, alliances are of convenience.

Few remember that it wasn’t until 1915 when Ataturk, Greek by birth, salvaged what was left of the Ottoman empire and encouraged the Ottomans to adopt European/western values and practices.

They’ve been backsliding ever since his death in 1938.
