I liked what she had to say. The whole county building here in Hardin County, Texas is off limits to carry Holders. I am going to file a complaint with the State of Texas. I can not understand the reasoning behind the fear of licensed folks. Stats from the DPS show they are some of the most law-abiding folks in the state of Texas. They seem to adhere to the deranged shooter theory. If a person is deranged those two signs are not going to mean squat because that person is not licensed.

We need an executive session to let our attorney tell us we are in violation of state laws.......politicians are dumb. If the attorney tells them otherwise they need to fire him. An ordinance to repeal the ordinance. Jeebus what idiots.

    A is questionable.
    B is already illegal.
C is highly questionable, and if nothing else, too vague.
D means to me, I'm specifically allowed under state law.

Unfortunately, our 'legislators" respond to voter "opinions", no matter how erroneous & misguided.

Wait...I though there was a tx code that mentions no government entity in tx shall enact a law of this magnitude without the consent of the house/senate.

Toddnjoyce, I believe I found it:

    LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE

TITLE 7. REGULATION OF LAND USE, STRUCTURES, BUSINESSES, AND RELATED ACTIVITIES

    SUBTITLE A. MUNICIPAL REGULATORY AUTHORITY

CHAPTER 229. MISCELLANEOUS REGULATORY AUTHORITY OF MUNICIPALITIES

43.002 of this code and Chapter 251, Agriculture Code, a municipality may not adopt regulations relating to:

    (1) the transfer, private ownership, keeping, transportation, licensing, or registration of firearms, air guns, knives, ammunition, or firearm or air gun supplies; or

    (2) the discharge of a firearm or air gun at a sport shooting range.
