folks ,get a grip here-there are several posts here that would or could result in FELONY charges. The Texas Law Center's evaluation of the new regulation and My own, say that ANY clearly worded or symbolic sign which a person should reasonable view prior to entrance OR verbal warning prohibiting firearms on their private property is valid. EVEN if you have a CHL and keep the weapon concealed.
I have been wrong before and likely will be again, however the wording is perfectly clear to me and like several people here have already said, The risk far outwieghs any moral high ground "win". AND if anyone trespasses while carring on my property without my permission I will file charges and seek prosecution. We have had real problems with poachers and damage from plinkers who were trespassers.

Ok, understood, but this leads me to another question. Now I know this is probably common sense but I don’t like to assume I know better, unless I KNOW I know better. So here goes…

I’ve seen this sign over the years…

Now that we are a CC state, does this sign ban constitutional carry? I would think it is clear that it does, but in all of the hype over the CC bill, several months ago, I came across information that said that this sign can not ban CC. That it has to be a 30.05 sign. Is THAT correct?

If one has an LTC, the only sign that is pertinent is a "proper" 30.06/07 sign
Ok so what about the sign in my above post? If you don’t mind, please read my post before this one and I’d appreciate your insight.

That sign has been repealed. It may still be up in some places but on 9/1/21 it is gone from law. I think I saw one at WalMart yesterday.
The final decision on signs for permitless carry are still not decided as the law was vague about the signs. For sure if you see a 30.05 and maybe if you see a no guns.

THAAAAAANK you. I really appreciate your unassuming, non antagonistic, and to the point response. I’m gonna watch that video here in a bit and get educated…

Thanks for the clarification on that sign.

If you weren’t so caught in your feelings about such a simple subject, you’d had read that I stated that I would take my business somewhere else. My post was simply to gain understanding as to the signs and which signs meant what. It’s a child’s game to read so deeply into something and form assumptions about something, or someone, simply because you woke up on an ego trip.

I actually know a group of people who play those games on a regular basis. They’re called women.

Anyway, I know I won’t get far talking to the “I believe in the second amendment, BUT” type, so I’ll do you a favor. Go ahead and feed that ego and get that coveted last word in. I promise not to step on your feelings anymore.
I have to make sure I get my coveted last word in on the subject!

If you have an LTC they have to post 06/07 otherwise you can carry.

Hospitals are specifically identified by state statue as being one of the prohibited locations for firearms. While it may be advisable for a hospital to post signage, it is not a requirement since it’s established by state law that hospitals are prohibited locations for carrying of firearms. Per 46.035 (b) (4):

Look for this sentence and become refreshed

    (i) Subsections (b)(4), (b)(5), and (c) do not apply if the actor was not given effective notice under Section 30.06 or 30.07.

    The law is never easy.

Yes believe that to be correct -again I am just a guy not an attorney specializing in Texas gun law. It forbids a NON CHL holder from entering with a handgun either open or concealed but NOT a licensed CHL while carrying concealed.

The sign in question is no longer valid so it doesn’t forbid anything.

    For LTC they MUST 06/07.

Where are you seeing this in the current PC?

    I found this:

    Sec. 46.03. PLACES WEAPONS PROHIBITED.
    (a) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly possesses or goes with a firearm, location-restricted knife, club, or prohibited weapon listed in Section 46.05(a):

    (11) on the premises of a hospital licensed under Chapter 241, Health and Safety Code, or on the premises of a nursing facility licensed under Chapter 242, Health and Safety Code, unless the person has written authorization of the hospital or nursing facility administration, as appropriate;

So far I am having trouble finding an exception as previously in 46.035.
