Well some of you know I am headed to Africa for a hunting safari this may. I decided to test my willpower by stopping by my LGS. With a sizeable pile of money for Africa burning a hole through my wallet, I figured Id try out some pistols that are in my list to buy once I get back

    1. S&W all metal competitor - WOW an awesome edition of the M&P. The trigger was nothing like the polymer models, had some takeup with a very light break. I think I might buy this to use as my church carry gun with an SRO
    2. S&W 1911sc e series scandium 1911 - Lightweight, front stippling is good but not as good as dw,great trigger but slide takes effort to pull back. Not sure how the light frame would do with 45 recoil
    3. Dan Wesson Pointman 9 - Simply outstanding in everyway. The slide is like butter. Effortless to move.Trigger is probably the I best have ever felt. Weight and balance are perfect. Front checkering is aggressive as it should be.
    4. Beretta 92x SA only model - This pistol would be excellent but the front stippling is non existent. Wth beretta? Trigger is excellent. I think id still buy one but the smoothness in the grip is not good. RDO ready though
I am thinking DW pointman or specialist, then the m&p competitor. I also saw that Glock released the model 28 and will probably get one of those

I havent even brushed on my rifle to buy list yet. Anyone own an m&p competitor?

A scandium framed S&W Commander has been my EDC for 20 years. If you have enough money to buy the ammo to break the frame then the cost of the firearm is moot.

Also remember that the lightweight commander has been around longer than you've been alive.

Of course a 45 ACP commander has a stronger recoil spring than a full size 9mm. I've met ya, you're a strapping lad. If my old broken hands can do it I know you can.

Glad you're back bud. Hope you are doing well.

All the problems with glock were fixed by M&P

For the money it’s a pos gun.

They are nice but for the money its trigger is not amazing. In fact I hate it. Its wall is a lot. It’s crisp but compared to a third or second gen Glock that’s worked in it sucks.

I dunno if MTA got himself a new blaster but..

Today I went and bought myself a new duty pistol and all the goodies to go with. The bank account cried a little bit. I love how wellt he 92X shoots, but I also love Safariland's level 3 holsters and don't want to learn a new system, or downgrade in mechanical security when I know the 6000 series Safarilands are good shit (we'll pretend the 7000 series disasters aren't real, and that the Vault is an over-extended April Fool's joke)

Back to Old Faithful for me, in its current iteration:

Not pictured - because Big Blue Santa won't be delivering them for a day or two:

    Holosun EPS enclosed emitter optic
    Streamlight TLR-1HL 1k lumen version
    A Safariland 6360 RDS
CAT Gen 7 TQ + kydex TQ carrier

Also ordered a different belt to try - the Bianchi I'm running right now is great, except taking the buckle off has literally started to pull the stitching out of the trim, because the buckle doesn't have enough space to slide off the belt easily. I'm going to a 2" belt with a knock-off Cobra type buckle that also can take standard belt slide type pouches, or MOLLE stuff.

Additionally I'm putting together an IFAK with a couple chest seals and combat gauze plus some boo-boo stuff. Going to try convincing the school's director to invest in a trauma kit. One of the school admins is a former EMT, so she knows how to use all that shit, and IF we were faced with a violent encounter - she'll be a lot quicker to treat wounded than waiting on EMS.

Really dig the trigger redesign Smith did. Its not as nice as the Walther PDP trigger, but I feel zero need to go spend $200 on an Apex trigger, which I was considering doing.

Smith & Wesson really needs to update their damn "American Guardian" website with dealers who *actually* have blue label guns in stock. Was not able to take advantage of the discount, BUT all was not lost - I got one of the last guns that came with a soft case and 5 mags that they had in stock. Going to find out who *actually* has blue label guns in stock, and might see about ordering a rifle thru that program soon. Glock's blue label program has changed - they no longer offer discounts to individual security monkeys unless you work for one of the handful of national companies ala G4S, Securitas, Allied (who now owns G4S, IIRC) - I *do* work for a large national company, but not one on Glock's published list.

Since I had some mags left over from previous M&P's, I've got 8 mags for this blaster. Going to the range to get sighted in and broken in on Monday after the optic and light arrive.

I was going to tag you to see how you’re doing.

Maybe whenever you take a trip up north you visit gt distributors. They give security blue label and it’s well below others
