I just mounted a trijicon red dot on top of my acog ta31f and I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions or expierence on what yardage to site the red dot in at. I need a range that is accurate from 5 yards to at least 50.
If you sight the dot in at 25 yds you will be a couple of inches low at 5 yds and a couple inches high at 50. That may be as good as you can get. Acog should take care of anything further out.
I am also going to say sight it in at 25 yards, mainly with it being a red dot, it is meant for close range. anything past 25 is where the ACOG comes into play.
it is the trijicon red dot not the docter but the trijicon one I will site er in at 25 and see what she does thanks guys. Its gonna piggy back my ta31f I like it its a little fuzzy in low light but other than that its cool
I think I got flamboozled I took it to the range and realized the lense is all kinds of foggy and the red dot was like a large blur I bought it used from someone in waco off of craigslist. Dang it wonder if trijicon will replace it and for how much
does anyone have pics of the way to attach it to the acog trijicon told me on the collar and every pic I see it is forward of the collar around the optic
IIRC 100yd zero gets you within 1-2" (might be off a bit) POA/POI from 0-300, that's about as versatile as you can get. Worst case, hold center of mass or upper thoracic near the center of the "T" and you'll still get a good COM hit without having to worry about hold over, hold under, etc. Here's a good guide:
