I purchased a Olight PL-2RL Baldr Light & Red Laser Combo for my home protection setup and took to the range today to zero-in the laser. After 100 rounds I’ve got a nice film over the light and discoloring on the case due to carbon/heat from muzzle flash.

What tips and tricks have you put into practice to make cleaning the light easy and not have to take off every time I go to the range? I heard about tooth paste to clean and I’ve heard about black electrical tape to protect the finish, even heard about someone putting chapstick on the lens before letting the rounds fly.

Thank you for sharing any lessons learned!

Usually just wipe mine down with the same rag I clean the gun with and seems to work fine. Can use Q-tip to get in tight spaces. I don’t worry about any discoloration to light body as it doesn’t affect operation any.
