In 1981, the Reagan administration announced that the ATF would be shut down and their objectives dispersed across several other LE agencies. What happened to that? The the ATF appears to be the most corrupt of all the alphabet agencies. This can be seen through a number of scandals beginning with Ruby Ridge, threading through the siege at Mount Carmel in Waco, and continuing to the notorious “Fast and Furious” scandal.
