I've never owned one. Shot one once for military qualification many years ago. One of those genuine US GI models. If felt good in my hand and I couldn't seem to miss the pop up targets.

I already own a couple of polymer handguns in 45 ACP. A Shield and an XDm 3.8 Compact. When I came across this Springfield Ronin Operator it really caught my eye.

I've found some online for $700-$759, but alas, not in stock. Is there another comparable model or brand in that price range that I should be looking at and comparing? I really like the looks of the Ruger SR1911 too. Or is this one worth waiting for?
I have a Iver Johnson Eagle XL, Long Slide in 10mm. And it shoots fantastic, I love it. Not to high priced either.

I say go for the SA 1911 if you like it. I would like to add some more 1911s to my collection. I really want a Dan Wesson Valor! I would also like a Ruger railed 1911 as well. A nice SA would be an option for me as well.

To each their own, but I'd never own a 1911 with a rail on it. Just don't belong IMO.

Snagged a DW Valkyrie earlier this year when they were being "firesaled" on GB for $1030, NIB. Doubt I'll ever see that kinda deal again.....like it enough that the grandson bought one, as well. Soon as I get this new truck paid off, I'm gonna get back to work on bustin' 100 1911's in the collection.....and ain't one of 'em got a rail.
