    Be very careful of the guy who is trying to sell that Garand, serial #699XXX, he is trying to sell the rifle for a high price based on a list of assumptions, and believes his rifle to be all original just because a gunsmith told him so. If you're curious, ask him for some pictures and then look at the parkerizing on the receiver compared to the rest of the parts ( I know what a park done then looks like, as well as what the corresponding parts should look like, The sight was worn as hell and the receiver was brand new), then ask for a picture of the date and proofs behind the op rod and get ready to hear him throw a tantrum because you caught something he tried to hide.
