In your opinion, who are the best local instructors? I am looking to keep the ole tools in the shed sharp. I used to use these guys but they are not longer around:

Positive responses only please. Let's not make this a place for going negative.

What do you want instruction on, and does local mean you do not want to leave Austin?

I am willing to drive a bit outside Austin sure. San Antonio. Maybe Houston or Dallas if it were a class I had not take.

Pistol 1 & 2 never get old to me. Same with AR style 1 & 2.
I would love to find a defensive shotgun class.

TJ at Tiger Valley in Waco for rifle and shotgun.

Learn something every day. Never noticed that before...
Perhaps you're not going down the hierarchy of local forums (e.g. Dallas, Austin, Houston), but find the new posts using some site features? I imagine doing so would make the organization less than obvious.

I’m in the north Austin area and am a certified instructor, depending on what you’re looking for. I only do it part time though pro bono to give back to the local community and promote safe firearms handling and storage. I don’t teach anything theoretical (i.e. all the tactical stuff these guys teach that, while fun and enjoyable, impractical), just realistic and practical skills that you would most likely utilize as a civilian.

I’m also certified by DPS if you need to obtain an LTC or renew one that elapsed over 12 months.
