Alright, well after seeing this thread, my wife and I did our parts.

I think most of you agree that if we don't get CC this year, we will never get it. If we don't get it this year, to me, it's a sign that Texas is already going the way of California. Even just typing that made me feel like I just got something shoved up my ass. I'm a life long born and raised Texan so it will definitely be heart wrenching, but it this is how it's going to be, I may have to start considering a move to a state that cares more about what their citizens think, than their appointed police chiefs.

I guess we will see what happens and I'm not holding my breath, BUT, something tells me it WILL pass this year. It must. I think all of our reps and senators know that if it doesn't pass, their seats are up for grabs and they don't want that.

I pray my fellow Texans do what's right. Anything less than constitutional freedom, is outright tyranny, in my book.

    God help Texas.

So law enforcement is against it. Speaking of the major metro areas, when have the LE leaders ever voted Republican? What do these senators owe them over thousands of law abiding citizen's rights? Furthermore, I become more convinced everyday that Dan Patrick talks just to hear his head rattle.

"Seliger voted against a pair of the lieutenant governor’s top priorities, a bill aimed at restricting local governments' abilities to raise property taxes and a program similar to private school vouchers that would have subsidized private school tuition and homeschooling expenses."
Duh, no wonder he is against what we want. Guess I could volunteer to send his opponent some $ next time even though I am not in his district.

Guys, if you have 10 minutes on lunch break, text TEXAS to 644-33... and follow instructions to enter your zip code. You’ll have to listen to a tiny annoying piece from Moms Demand Action but then their fancy system will connect you to one of the senators they are targeting...

Here is the text of the Texas Bill of Rights Article 1, Section 23, and tell them that the Constitution is clear that every citizen shall have the right to keep and bear arms in their own lawful defense and that it’s immoral that the poor and disadvantaged should have to go get a permit to exercise their rights...

Again it works in the 20 states that have it. That is the only argument needed. Pass it and prove that our state really does support the 2nd Amendment.

They don’t care, and putting them out as elitists denying minorities their Constitutional rights is better optics.

I was just thinking that all these Fudd CHL instructors that are o so proud of the training they offer, I think that they should be held liable for any broken carry law up to being an accessory to a bad shoot. I would bet there opinion would change in a hot minute.

As to our (insert a string of words that would put me on another watch list and cause Ben to drop the ban hammer) ......distinguished leaders. How dare you, in Texas none the less restrict a God given right.

I have some long term plans here that I don't see changing so I'll never 100% leave, but the covid bullshit has convinced me I can't do business in Texas anymore. SD is going to be getting some attention from me in the near future.

No, law enforcement is NOT against the bill. Chief of Police is against the bill, and they think they speak for ALL officers. Probably paid off by the anti-gunners.

I'd reckon, one could use a disposable phone number, email and fake address.

Or just not do it. I am not going to jump through hoops just to do something like this. I don't want to draw their attention to myself. Not sky falling, but no reason to do this and potentially put myself at risk of these people. But don't let my reluctance stop anyone else from doing what they want. The normal channels work well enough for me.

One thing to remind your senators:

These same alarmists spread fear about concealed carry. None of their dire predictions came true. Same for OC. Now the very same people are spreading fear about constitutional carry. They were grossly wrong on the first two and are wrong again.

There is never a problem with a law abiding citizen carrying a firearm. And criminals will never obey gun laws.

Constitutional carry is just the latest battle in the culture war. Like concealed carry, Const carry is a cultural and political issue. There's no logical reason to oppose either. But it's important for "progressives"/Marxists/Dems to restrict the little liberties of citizens to get us used to big government and the high taxes that pay for it. Self-defense shouldn't be liberal or conservative. But corporate media and the trillion dollar tech companies say conservatives like guns, conservatives are bad, so guns must be bad. Const carry doesn't really impact my life at all, but I support it because it would be a small stand against the encroaching swamp.

It always seems to be republican politicians are never united for anything and as a whole have a difficult time standing up for conservative values. Almost never the case with democrats.

I hope you guys in Texas turn this around.
