I would like a pre WWII Tomcat or equivalent. My dad carried one in the war and it got stolen later. He carried it when "not under arms" in areas that we had secured like Paris, and Sicily etc. He took it from a wehrmacht officer in North Africa.

    Army 1911,

IF you want a NICE "pocket powerhouse", find a C&R East German Makarov & load it with plus-P-plus 92 grain JHP.,
(IMO, the EG MAK is a BETTER handgun than the Walther PP. = I've owned/liked BOTH, too.)

    justmax,

As I've said elsewhere, IF I was going to go for a suppressed handgun, it would be a BERETTA Model 81BB with the BUILT-IN suppressor in .32ACP.
(I've shot one of those In South America & it's DEADLY ACCURATE at 25M & as QUIET as a Daisy RED RYDER BB gun.)

I bought a model 81 for that express purpose. I would like to know more about the built in suppressor. Do you know anything about it's internals?

    justmax,

Fyi, I KNOW NADA about the internals. = I've only seen/shot one.
(A Kiwi SGT, who was seconded to our advisory group, had one when I was stationed in Latin America & it was QUIET as a church mouse.)

    SOUNDED like a BB gun.

Mine likes mini mags just fine the one and only magazine I have is reliable so long as you don’t over load it. 6 rounds if I remember right, the 7th will push past the feed lips and screw everything up. I bring it out to the range for fun every now and then. It hits fine out to 7 yards. Past that it’s opening up past min of man.

Had one. I bought it because my sister had one and I thought it would be a good choice for the wife. She shot it some and loved it, but it ended up sitting in a drawer for years. (Long story and not relevant.) Someone posted that they wanted one really, really bad and so we traded. I got some stuff that I could use and presumably he was happy with the pistol. It was a good design, but there are so many better choices now in 380 or 9 mm.
