If your worried about email accounts and social media just blank them out and delete them. With Facebook you can't totally get rid of your page so blank it out and have a friend re password it and not tell you, you can't give what you don't have.

Yeah, departments won't care about evasivness, subterfuge and a clear attempt to conceal.

    Wonderful advice.

Social media shouldn't be a concern for employers in the first place unless they have known criminal background from the initial background check. Good luck getting anything off mine mines a snooze fest just family and a few friends I think I've post on it maybe 10 times.

Social Media is a huge indicator of the person you are, and a great resource for LE.

Regardless, advising a person to be subertive when applying for a LE job is bad advice.

We will know in 14 days. I just spoke with them about deleting my old account and they said yes but it takes up to 14 days.

Things you posted on other walls will still be available. But as time goes buy it gets harder and harder to find

meh. I have had one since 09. Not a thing there I would care if a prospective employer, or anyone actually, saw.
I concur.....Facebook is very useful for getting info out to a large group (our PD has a FB page) and I use mine to send family pics to family all over the U.S. with simply one click.

Facebook is not the devil some make it out to be. Its the guy behicnd the keyboard that you have to worry about.
