    Hi folks,

    Normally when I travel up to OKC I carry a 1911 with my LTC but the next time I go I am thinking of taking my AR Pistol as well and stowing it loaded in the car. Their laws seem a little confusing but from what I gather it's just as legal and my 1911 so long as I have my license with me.

    Does anyone have any insight on this? I will be transporting it in my luggage when I check into and out of the hotel where I'm staying but while it's in the car it's going to be in a bag in the passenger seat.

    I realize the real question is not specifically about an AR pistol, but whether one can transport two loaded handguns in their vehicle with their LTC. One to be carried on their person, and one in a bag or something. From what I'm reading looks like that is just fine, I do not see a restriction on the number like I do for New Mexico which restricts concealed carry so a single pistol - which is dumb!

    Helotes!
    First, does Texas have reciprocity with Oklahoma?

    The answer is yes, since 1998

    Second, are you familiar with Oklahoma laws concerning carry?

    If no, then do your research. This is a good place to start (start with the FAQs section)...

    Also with Oklahoma’s Constitutional Carry, non-residents can carry but not loaded, unless you have a license from your home state.

    Which means one would have to perfect the unloaded gun throwing technique

    Guess the real question is why? Can't holster it. Pack unloaded in bag and carry the 45

    This.

    Why not just take an AR instead of a range toy / fashion accessory?
    depends. Is it truly an AR pistol;

    or is it one of those abortions with a tactical dildo hidden by a brace over it?
