I got an idea. I want a stupid accurate Ruger 10/22 specifically for shooting turkeys in the head out to a max distance of 100 yards during the spring season.

For all you 10/22 savvy folks out there, what does this entail?

Stock? I was thinking a Hogue overmold.

Camo? How would y'all go about that? I know there's lots of options out there.

Barrel? I've heard lots of good things about the GM .920s. Thoughts?

Trigger? No idea, gonna need some help with this one.

Scope and mounts preference? Again, lots of options. What say ye all?



Am I missing anything?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I was under the assumption that its illegal to shoot turkeys with a rim fire?

Per TPWD:

shotguns are the only legal firearm that may be used to hunt Eastern turkey during the spring Eastern turkey season. Rifles and handguns may not be used to hunt Eastern turkey

Green mountain is g2g, you can pick a primary arms ffp 14x for 200 something, vq base, mount from primary arms, kidd drop in trigger, hogue stock, and you are goooood to go sir

The hogue stock is very heavy IMO. I'd get something lighter for what you plan on using it for.
