1. Ship it via UPS. Orwhat do you mean by "pack it"?
2. Stick gauze all the way into a wound, filling any cavity. Try not to puke.

Pack it full. Use a Combat or Celox gauze if possible. If not, use whatever gauze, or cloth available. They have drugs to treat the forthcoming infection(s), but, they can't treat 'em if they've bled out.
Looks like dressings were left for 24 hours in the pigs in this study.
I mean, sure, this seems like it’s not well studied as of yet. Needs more research.

I’m getting probably a couple CAT gen 7 and one belt holster. Looks like if you choose the holster and add the CAT, that takes about six bucks off the price of getting them separately. You do NOT want a cheap tourniquet if you are going to buy one. Of course improvising is a thing, but I want to buy a couple of quality ones........
In the spirit of homeschooling, I would be happy to provide you with some materials to began your IFAK(s). I have some of the more pricey items you'll need.So Dark Angel Medical has a coupon code for 15 percent off for May. Code is STOPTHEBLEED.
This trainer says that they are finding that the combat gauze is causing problems with the treated gauze breaking down and pieces of it (not sure if it’s the stuff it’s treated with or the gauze itself?) getting into the bloodstream. So it’s great for the amazing stoppage that you want it for and all but it’s not problem proof.
I found a preliminary study from NCBI. “Safety of the long-term application of QuickClot...”

A true arterial bleed is fatal fast. Average cardiac output in relation to avg body blood volume = quick death when there's a major hole.Took one several years ago and carry an IFAK in the truck.....Hope to never need it. During our class we were shown a video of a single gunshot to the thigh which resulted in death due to blood loss in about 90 seconds. Could have been saved with a CAT.
I took the course in Angleton. It was promoted by our local “homeland preparedness project” organization.@Wildcat Diva where did you take the course?
