Hi, new to the group. I recently acquired a SR-25 (AR10 in .308) clone, it was built by a currently serving US Army sniper, based on the rifle he was using. I have optics for it, a Premier 3-15 x 50 LT, I am in need of a good bipod and was looking for any suggestions. I am leaning towards a Harris bipod, something adjustable in the 7" - 12". Am I on the right track here? I understand going to short is basically worthless and too tall makes the rifle unwieldy. Any suggestions/help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Depends on your budget. Theres some ok Caldwells out there... then theres the high end stuff... over $200. I've been considering a RRS SOAR Tripod for my build. But they are way more than o want to spend.

I was figuring somewhere in the $125 - $200 range for a quality bipod. Not familiar with the Caldwells, I'll take a look online. I like the Harris because I read that they were commonly used on SEAL sniper rifles and the reviews I have read on them were pretty good. Thank you for the suggestions!

I've been extremely happy with this one for the price point/features. It rides on my LR rifle shooting prone. Might be a little heavy if your going to carry it a lot.

Thanks for the link. I have a UTG scope and bipod that I keep with my AR-15 a1, they seem to be pretty decent, for my SR-25 I was leaning more on something closer to what the military uses. I will definitely take a look at the UTG, thank you for the suggestion.

    ^Great writeups

currently running Harris (various models) and an Atlas PSR, and the Atlas is well worth the jump in cost in my opinion - awesome bipod and fixed shortcomings of the old model.

Also, have heard awesome things about the Ckye-Pod (no direct experience with these yet), and plan to pick one up, but they are a bit steep...

Moat everyone likes Atlas, except the price. Accu-Tac can be a little cheaper but still pretty heavy duty. Harris is nice but not built as tough as the other two. I would say most people and most rifles are fine with Harris.
