Would not have wasted money on it anyway
The only issue I ever considered buying was the one
where they painted the swimsuits on the models.

There's some sort of pc bs trying to tell us men that big old fat manatees are sexy along with mid-50 (or older) are super, duper sexy...nope, they're not.

Old and/or fat is perfectly fine...for kitchen help, but model beautiful?

    No, gawd no...

    Occupied Texas
When the Rockets won the World Championship in 1994, SI had a warehouse full of copies of the NY Knicks "Winning Season", as they totally expected the Rockets to lose. They didn't print a similar edition for Houston. This made the local news and every radio station spread the word. People called asking for the Houston season edition and when they were told they didn't have one, they cancelled their subscriptions. I think SI finally caved and printed something just to free up their subscription lines. SI's attitude towards Texas, and Houston in particular, was enough to get me to avoid the rag.

Side story: My little brother was a pretty good athlete and one year when he was pretty young - maybe junior high - he asked if he could have a subscription to SI for his birthday. My Dad told him he could go ahead and order it. When the bill came, the Old Man hit the ceiling. The guy on the subscription line convinced my brother that the best deal was like a 10 year subscription. My Dad was a school teacher and held down 2 or 3 extra jobs just to put food on the table.

I no longer watch pro sports but you're right, Houston teams have long been 'ignored' by national broadcasts, even during the Rockets 3peat years.
