Perry who like Cornyn is only a conservative when an election is in the near future no doubt feels any meaningful gun legislation would not be good for his national image. I'd enjoy it if he would prove me wrong, but he does not do anything that is not going to play well in Peoria. Look at what he has really done in 16+ years. He follows and is no leader. IMHO

I grew up just a few miles from Peoria. I'm pretty sure they would be supportive of OC.

Because open carry has never made it out of committee, it was never considered a real contender for inclusion in any of the special sessions.
