Don't tell me that! I'm going have more and more regret for balking on the PPQ! :P
If you buy a Glock, make sure it’s pretty much either stock or has minor add/replace type modifications like sights and such.
I suggest avoiding any frames that were Dremmeled, cut, or stippled.
Any Glocks that have not had any frame or slide work done will be covered by Glock for warranty repairs
I am extremely disappointed that I am the first to say:
Buy both.
On a serious note, find someone with a 1911 in .45 and shoot it (the pistol, not the owner). You may have a sudden change in your tastes in pistols.
I'm sure there are members here who would be happy to meet you at a local range and allow you to shoot some guns.
I may have missed it. In what part of the State are you located?
Welcome aboard.
Natural aim. Single action trigger. Good round (.45). Smooth action. Proven design.Already starting to go deeper into the rabbit hole. I can't remember if I've ever fired a 1911. What about it makes it so good?

You are confusing 1911's with plastic fantastics.
"but never had the blessing from the Mrs. to own a gun."
Do your pants fit her?
Welcome to the world of firearms.Greetings all! Excited to be here. I've been a knife enthusiast and frequented the knife forums a lot, but never had the blessing from the Mrs. to own a gun. With things changing I'm looking to make my first firearm purchase soon but demand is so high right now. I just missed out on a PPQ .40 S&W for $300 at my local shop by 10 minutes! Done a lot of research on the VP9 so I'm hoping that will be my first purchase.
Good to be here and thinking this is going to be a major time suck on this forum! :P
