You can keep your AR for home defense, I personally prefer a shotgun and this is the one I have for that purpose. It is my Keltec KSG. A 12ga. pump that has two magazines holding 13 rounds.(6+6+1). I keep mine loaded with six 00Buck on one side and six Slugs on the other. The extra always in the chamber is usually birdshot. It is a devastating weapon and I gave never had it jam or malfunction in any way.
