The Taurus 605 Poly Protector appears to be a small plastic frame 357.akin to a Ruger LCRx 357.

I am unaware of S&W making such a model. Even their model 340 has a "scandium alloy" frame... A wise decision on their part to avoid jumping on the small plastic frame revolver train?

Does anyone have experience with these small plastic frame magnum revolvers?
Without question, turely they kick like a startled mule. But do they hold-up to the abuse of magnum ammo?

I was gonna try one for carry when they came out but I went thru 3 in the gun store and they all had issues.

    Stick to metal.

    In the woods...
I had a scandium framed S&W, .357 when they first came out about 20 years ago. I fired a cylinder of full-house .357 through it, and then sold it to a buddy of mine who fired a cylinder through it, and sold it to a buddy of his, and so on, and so on...
I have a Ruger LCR in 9mm and fire +P+ Buffalo Bore through it with no problem.
I still prefer J-Frame airweights in .38 special.

.38 LCR. Plenty of recall even with standard .38. Don't do +p.
I can imagine carrying one with a wadcutter target load. Wadcutters in snubbies were a pretty common self-defense combo 50 years ago and their utility remains unchanged today. The recoil is light, penetration adequate, and the bullet shape is essentially the best possible for a plain lead projectile launched at pedestrian speeds.

Scandium. A joy to carry. To shoot, not so much. ;)
