    Ironic, ain't it?

Music should be a great unifier.

'Tis a symptom of the rampant tribalism interdigitating itself though all facets our present zeitgeist, that even music has become divisive.

Maybe we should disallow music threads and re-allow theology.

Yeah, but we're really not talking about music here.

I posted the story originally in "Rants and Raves" because I am tired of so-called "celebrities" using their status to dictate to the masses. She is going to punish us all if some organization does not do as she says? As Ben pointed out earlier, they are sometimes jumped by the "woke crowd" and it's up to them how to respond. If principles and character are not a factor in the response, then they get what they get.

I have yet to hear any music from this "celebrity". This story was my first exposure to her. And sometimes first impressions are bad. I will try to keep an open mind when, and if, I do hear some music from her.

There are plenty of performers whose music I like, yet I don't often care for their politics. As long as they don't get all woke and threaten to cancel due to an identity group's rants, I can care less.

I think it's easier to judge the quality of a voice when the song is simple and familiar.

Very nice, thanks, Ben. I will admit that it made me think about listening to some of her other work.
That said, the Josh Groban version is hard to beat.

Hey, hitler liked his dog too.......her talent as a singer doesn't grant her 'dictatorial' to the masses powers...

What's that old saying of 'if we could sell you for what you think your worth compared to what your actually worth' or something along those lines....in the grand scheme ersatz celebrity, she aint squat.....

Minor celebrities like her (after I stop being annoyed) make me laugh at their threatening 'chutzpah' behavior which is akin to a sullen 3 year old holding their breath until they turn blue.

Please, hold it as long as you can hold, while I chortle as you perform a 'chopping off of yer nose to spite yer face' act...idgit.

A number of 'talents' get too big for their britches and boom...backfire!

Does it really matter how well she can sing?

    ZX,

    Nope.

Lots of talented folks are into ye olde: "You, peasant, must conform to my agenda. I'm right - you're wrong - respect my authori-tie!

Now, bow down and never let me catch you looking at Royal me...
