Ahhh, you found it.
What a day.
Moonpie and B
Texas Brandon beat me by a few minutes. So did a nice young lady named Heather from work. Not many pics but I will let TexasBrandon post a video of him shooting a flintlock pistol. Very cool.
Heather came out to learn how to shoot. She learned fast. This was her first magazine,
She also shot some of Moonpie's pistols. Shot a ragged hole at 5 yards with his revolver. I think she liked it.
She left fo work with a big smile. I think we have a convert.
Hot as balls out there today. I almost fell the hell out at the end. If those guys wouldn't have shown up I probably wouldn't have left, I don't like crowds, the wife was miserable, and I needed to call it the quits. Got the black powder revolver soaking in heat soapy water as we speak.
It was hot. That ain't no lie.
Felt sorry for your wife, I know she felt bad. Very nice lady too.
I thoroughly enjoyed today despite the heat. Didn't leave until after 6pm. Went back to the pistol range for awhile.
Got the black powder revolver cleaned up and shinier than it was before I took it out there. Dawn and some hot water did a fantastic job. Still a few black smudges but only on a few places on the brass. It's an Uberti made in 1996 based on the information I looked up.
That is a good shot. I think we have a new powder smoke junkie amongst us. Black powder that is.
When he fired, the smoke cloud blew back to the firing line. His wife said it stinks. But she smiled when she said it.
She's a pretty good shot to by the way.
Another fun and interesting range day!
I'd never even heard of Shiny Top ranch before.
Followed the directions and found myself at a lonely cattle gate that appeared to lead off down a mud road into a wooded pasture.
Passing thru the gate and continuing on, I thought to myself Here I am driving uninvited into some ranchers cow pasture. I'm gonna get shot. LoL
Turned out totally different once I found the place.
As always it was fun shooting with y'all. Thanks for letting me shoot your toys.
Jimmie, I gotta say I was impressed with that AR-7. That thing really shoots. Now I want one like it! Hahaha.
Its always a treat for me to see and shoot at new places.
Thanks for the invite.
Very much enjoyed the day.
That really is a neat little gun. I love that Garand. Easier on my shoulder than I remembered. And that sterling was really cool. The trouble with range days like that, is so many things get added to my Christmas Wish list. Even after a shower, I still smelled the powder smoke from that flintlock. Love it.
I went back to the pistol range later and releveled the bipod and dialed it in with the ammo we were using. Next time, it will punch that bullseye at 100 yards. It really likes that federal ammo.
And no range officer breathing down your neck!
