Coming from a woman that recently alienated a good portion of her state's residents by telling them to leave the state. She's about as bad as Biden alienating half the US in stating they are a danger to democracy.

I cringe every time I hear someone say 'our democracy'. Still clinging to the fact that we are a republic.
She's a real piece of work!

    Interesting amicus brief

“Yet the brief from the criminal defense lawyers, which includes the Bronx Defenders and the Brooklyn Defender Services, argues against the state’s gun laws from a progressive position. “In 2020, while Black people made up 18% of New York’s population, they accounted for 78% of the state’s felony gun possession cases,” the brief says.”

Are they so blind as to not be able to see a non-“racist” explanation for this ?

The Bruen decision is the gift which keeps on giving and extending further protection to the Bill of Rights. From the Bearing Arms blog is this commentary on what's going on 2A legal-wise and the anti-gun crowd's reaction. So sad for them (snark)

The ruling has led to an “explosion in court challenges”, said Nick Suplina, a senior vice president of law and policy at Everytown for Gun Safety, a nonprofit that supports stricter gun laws.

Suplina explained that the June decision “has really emboldened the farthest fringes of the [pro-gun] movement to say that everything that you could possibly think of in the realm of gun safety is unconstitutional”.

How those court battles play out could shape the landscape of gun control for generations and eventually determine state and federal legislators’ ability to enact lasting gun laws, advocates like Suplina told Al Jazeera.

Well all the laws are infringements so they violate the Constitution. Safety is up to every individual that touches a gun. Safety used to be taught in schools before Dems decided to start their quest to make us subjects. And neglected to teach that we live in a Constitutional Republic and the importance of it and how it is supposed to operate.
