Does anyone make a Weaver or Picatinny rail for scope mounting on the Marlin 795?

I'm aware of the DIP Picatinny rail but how does it fit on that skinny dovetail receiver that's on the 795? I see that it says, "Minor fitting may be required"...what does that mean?

It also says to mount the rail with part number towards the muzzle - that's beginning to sound like some kind of friction fit on the rifle's dovetail. (Not to mention the $30 bucks for that rail would cost more than the 3-9x40 Simmons scope I'm trying to put on there!)

Anybody know of a more economical Weaver Rail mount that's available?

I'd advise against using an adapter and just getting some .22 rings or better yet a .22 one piece mount. It's a 3/8" dovetail, and yes it's friction fit.
