Saxet gives up on Austin

I guess the Saxet show has given up on holding any more shows in austin. I see on their website they have added new location for their show in San Benito, Tx. Guess we are stuck with Texas Gun Show for the near future.

Not surprising, Austin has been trying to drive gun shows out of the city for a while...

I went to the TGS "South Austin" show last month and it was pretty much a waste of time and money. Had I not planned to be up in that area already, I would have been very disappointed. I don't see it lasting too long, but with SAXET gone it might stand a chance as there is no competition and the only alternative would be the trip to SA every month.

Austin has become such a cesspool of liberal fruits and nuts... who could blame them for pulling out? Best thing I ever did was build a new home OUT OF AUSTIN about 7 years ago (after living there since 1978).

I wish they would try Round Rock but my wishes never come true-
I might have to make a run down to SA in September or wait for the next Houston or Dallas show-
Been 3 times since it started and I am not wasting the gas to drive to the TGS in South Austin again.

They said they couldn't find a venue in Round Rock but if anyone knew of a place they could hold it that was large enough to email them on their website.

How about Bastrop? I know it's not Round Rock, but it would be a better drive from the North side of Austin/Round Rock area...

They are building a new Convention Center there, and I just so happen to know the new Convention Center Manager. I'll email them and see what they say.

Went to the last South Austin gun show as well.....nothing there of interest. Plenty of overpriced $1000+ AR15's....not much else. What about in Buda?

I am not driving to south austin for a gun show, actually even with Saxet, they were pretty boring for years, same vendors same stuff

Sounds like the Saxet Gun show in San Antonio....

Although, I did get a really good deal on my Ruger LCP at the last show I went to. But it took almost a dozen vendors to find it priced appropriately.

Try going North. Bell Co. has a decent show. Personally, I wouldn't drive to the next block to get to TGS nor SGS again.
