I would like to find out more about point shooting techniques and classes available. The link doesn't work for me.

Sorry Charlie, fixed the link. To learn more about our theory and practices on point shooting you can browse the forum connected to the link. There is a sub-section on it. For further research, google Roger Phillips. He has a couple of DVD's out and a book called Point Shooting Progressions. He developed the point shooting curriculums for Suarez Int.

Central TX TGT members, this class is three weeks out. Point Shooting is often misconstrued as a "spray and pray" concept. This is simply not the case. In this class we will lay the fundamental groundwork for indexed shooting, using not only the body, but a visual centerline. We will explore the seamless transition from indexed shooting to sighted fire. We will look at the fight continuum and discuss how to remain fluid enough to transition from right out of the holster with elbow up/elbow down to 3/4 hip to point shoulder. We will train in "metal on meat" or superimposing the rear of your gun on your adversary. We will also train in flash sight picture/type two focus.

All of these point shooting methods have a place in the fight continuum depending on time and distance. We hope to see you in training on the 23rd.

    Damn! ... I missed it.

This was a student who signed up at the last minute. Only had about an hour of basic safety and trigger time with another student who convinced him to come train. The pic is of two separate bursts of fire, below line of sight (think right around his sternum) from a compressed contact ready, at seven yards, sans sights. This gentleman was literally brand new to the handgun and took to point-shooting like a duck to water.
