Must be some weird S&W modification because my 4006 has the same style of hammer.

Is your 4006 double action only? I want to say the CHP 4006 TSWs had the bobbed hammer because they were DAO but I don't rightly remember.

I do know also that S&W had issues with the slide cracking on the 4006s and they attributed it to the weight of the hammers.

My 4006 is regular SA/DA with a decocker. I remember the CHP 4006 from years ago but only remember the rail section not the bobbed hammer.

I didn't know about the slide issues but it's just a range toy so I'm not too worried about it.

    Is it DAO?
The true test of originality on any 39-2 is if it still has the damn magazine disconnect in it, on the NIB example I had it was loose in the box!

My 59 still has it. I haven't gotten around to removing it yet. :)
