    Oh, yes, true.

Though most here seem to find that Ruger does a marvelous job with making very fine affordable barrels.

Realizing that there are different tolerance threads of the same 1/2x28 or 5/8x24 threads, I'm no machinist.

I suspect, for the purpose of mounting suppressors, concentricity of the threading and also a perfectly perpendicular shoulder are of paramount concern.

Still, re-threading to 5/8x24 would eliminate one's ability to mount the marvelously light and efficient 22lr cans.

"To prevent human error from entering into accuracy tests and invalidating results, machine rest was used to rigidly hold Winchester (above) and Remington rifles during thorough study of .22 cartridges on windless indoor 100-yard range.

the results were different. The novice shooter, Harm Shel-

don, had been persuaded to enter his first national com-

petition with his M2 Springfield .22 rifle. The M2 is a

match-winning scores in that particular rifle. His success was sheer accident. There was no deliberate planning in the ammo he bought: he just took what was available"

    Poop!
I'm having trouble inserting the image that shows a big machine to brace a Winchester 52 and text that states that even with that extreme setup, sub 1" groups are not going to happen with .22LR ammo at 100 yards.

Real life shooting 50 yard NRA targets, the X ring is about the size of a nickel.
    X's win matches.

Can I respectfully prove you wrong.

I have no connection with Hill Country Rifles in New Braunfels other than having stumbled upon them a while back.

    https://www.hillcountryrifles.com/product/hcr-custom-long-range-22-long-rifle-a1557/

They guarantee all their rifles to be 0.5 MOA or better.
That link above is to a .22LR bolt gun and its test target with a 0.251 MOA demonstrated.

Of course the price to play is $4,300.
Of course their underground 100 yard range with zero wind and controlled temp and humidity helps.

Don't you know I'm lusting for one!

    I found my image.

    I looked at that website.
It shows the .22 group is smaller than the .17 groups.
    That's very impressive.
    Also odd and counterintuitive.

Went out to Trinity Armory last week. Was ringing the 18” gong at 300yds with a 42moa holdover with ease. Using CCI Standard ammo.
