So a little update on my RPRR...

Sold the Diamondback 4-12 (SFP) and bought the Diamondback Tactical 4-16x44 (FFP/MOA) scope. Really love this optic for the price point!

Probably have more time behind my RPRR than any other firearm I own. Feel real confident at 100 yards. Want to tighten up my grouping at 200 yards. Was able to get a 5 shot group at 350yards and unsure if it was mine or another's shooter at 434 yards.

I'd like to see that chart and the scope with 300 MOA adjustment. :)

Ballistic charts are easy to find these days. Sorry, it’s MRAD instead of MOA.

And you don’t need 300MOA of adjustment. Just need a base built for your goal.

Bit of an update. Bought and installed the Timney flat trigger last week. Having issues with it engaging with the bolt. Had to turn up the trigger pull weight till the bolt engaged the trigger. Sent Timney an email asking for advice. Went out to Blackwood Gun Club today to confirm zero. Also tried some Prime 40gr ammo. Results are below.

Tried several ammos at 50yds yesterday.

Rifle: Ruger Precision Rimfire .22lr, Vortex Diamondback 4-12x24, UTG medium rings, Harris bipod.

CCI Standard, CCI MiniMag, Federal Match, Eley Club, & Eley Target. Zeroed with CCI Standard. Eley Club gave the best grouping. Had Extraction issues with the Federal Match. MiniMag was the worst grouping.

Like to make a note that the bench top had a soft/mushy surface. You could literally push the “mat” up & down.

I love my RPRR so much that I started a monthly postal match for them. Now for ammo, I've tried to shoot as many different types of ammo through my RPRR and was VERY surprised to find Aguila Rifle Match grouped better than every other ammo that was shot. It beat Center X, SK, CCI, Blazer, Federal Hunter Match, CCI Green. Now I've not tried any Eley products but will soon. Hey a gun likes what a gun likes.

Went to my first NRL22 shoot today at Trinity. The Timney trigger failed multiple time. Completely unhappy with this trigger. And honestly pissed off at the lack of customer service I've received. I emailed Timney last week regarding the trigger not resetting after working the bolt. The email response I received was; "Try lowering the first stage pull weight a little. This will give you a little more flexibility with the second stage weight. Let me know if you need an assist with that, happy to help."

Sent a second email stating I tried lowering the first stage with same results. Arrg. Hopefully they respond with a better fix. We'll see.

I have an RPR and it's a great little rifle. I do think it would profit from cutting the barrel threads off and re-threading for 5/8-24 and re-crowning.

    Interesting concept.

The main thing it would do, at best, is allow you to use a much heavier .30 caliber suppressor on your rimfire, taming the recoil?

Try a cheap $25 1/2x28 to 5/8x24 adapter prior to potentially messing up the crown of an already fine barrel.

Really the idea is to get away from the small threads on the thick barrel of the RPR. Just about all factory threaded barrels can benefit from rethreading if only to the same thread dimensions. Some factory barrel threads, not necessarily Ruger, aren't even within spec. Some threaded barrels are bell mouthed at the muzzle. It can be checked with Deltronic pin gages or just regular plus/minus pin gages.

It's just what it is. If your happy with what you've got then great. It helped my 20" Grendel and I'll probably go ahead and pull the barrel on my RPR and rethread it so I can use my suppressor. I'm not a fan of adapters and our uncle has made it difficult and expensive to purchase a bunch of different suppressors.

If you've got a barrel that won't quite shoot it might help to have the muzzle checked. That could be an easy fix.
