    Okay. If I buy a Ruger Charger and put a AR-style stock on it, is it now considered an SBR and do I have to register it with the NFA and pay the federal toll?
    Better not put the AR stock on it until AFTER you've filed the Form 1, paid the tax, and received the approval.

    No its still a felony you are just not a felon on the books till snagged. If you don't get caught robbing a bank are you not a bank robber ?

    old thread, I have a charger question, can I put a carbine barrel on one and have it attach with standard mounting hardware if its a takedown style ,,, picture look like there is a mount screw that is different on the charger
