Found one at a pawn shop. It is a stainless rifle in .22 Magnum. Action is pretty smooth. I don't see too many of them around. How rare are these guns? Would you consider this gun to be a *buy*?

    I love mine in 22LR.

I considered a 22 magnum, but decided it wasn't worth the increased operating costs, not that it was much and I wouldn't mind on in addition to my 22LR.

    What's the price tag?

The 77/22 has been discontinued for some time now....top of the line Ruger .22 rifle.......

Price determines whether it's a "buy" or a pass..........

Those sold for $700.00 - $750.00 new.... and worth every penny, imho...

Just a wag, but I would think Ruger made fewer in 22 Mag than they did in 22 LR...

I would also bet it's already gone.........

    Simple question:
Is there a better built, reliable, accurate, no-longer built rimfire rifle for $500?
    The answer, IMO, is no.

    Takes superlative 10/22 mags.
    Takes great ruger scope rings.

    Grab it.

I have two 77/22s, a 22lr and a 22mag that are my go-to guns for just about anything.
    Both I had threaded.
    Love 'em.

What I really want is to find a canoe paddle Ruger in .17!
    Uncommon.
