Howdy ya'll, just moved down to Harlingen and looking for some rifle ranges to shoot at especially steel ammo. All the indoor ranges here are no go and don't allow large calibers. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Masseys in Brownsville goes out to 300yds, which currently is the longest range. There is a range outside Los Fresnos on your way to South Padre that is 1000 yds with steel from 400+, but that unfortunately closed down in February. Right past that is Vincent's gun range which is 100yds. There are a couple gun clubs that you can join and get access to their ranges, but I am not to sure on details for ya.

One big recommendation for you is to go to Edinburgh and check out Suppressed Tactical Solutions, by far the best gun store in the valley, and they host long range shooting competitions as well.

If you have any questions regarding the valley send me a PM, I lived and grew up there for most of my life.

Lozano's Shooting Range is awesome and they have a 1000 yard target.

You need to talk to Walter Plitt, at Plitt Crane Co. in Brownsville. Walter is the recently retired TSRA South Texas Area Counselor and is familiar with all the area ranges. He is also a very nice fellow.

In Harlingen, try Mike Travis at the Marine Academy School.
