Yep, that's Benjamin Orr, who passed in 2000 at age 53. Most people don't realize Orr sang lead vocals on such hits as Just What I Needed, Moving in Stereo, Let's Go, Candy-O (one of my favorite Cars' songs!), and Drive...

    Good call Max

It’s one of my favorite non-Ric songs. He’s got a really good voice and interesting range, on some songs like Just What I Needed he kinda dips down a little and it’s just a rich sound.

And this is also up there. Loved the album art of Candy-O. It was simple. It f*cking 80’s AWESOME.

I tell young peeps all the time. You think you guys know what great music is? Bah!!!
“The 80’s was the most prolific decade of Rock n Roll, Punk, Country, damn near every genre. Ever.”
I know Candy-O was released in ‘79 but I still classify it in the 80’s.

I bet the prices go thru the roof and sales of his handguns triple with his passing.

There is a great video on youtube of the TV special "The Cars In Concert". Great music. I taped it on my VCR when it was on originally. Don't have any VHS tapes anymore, but I copied it to a cassette. Yeah, I still listen to cassettes at home and in the car.

Just What I Needed is my favorite Cars song. Followed by Best Friends Girlfriend.

    Good music by those guys.

Had to get it for my wife anyway, just bought a big one with both our names on it. They will just have to add my dod when I croak. Hopefully many years from now.
