Finally took them to the range and ran a box through each. The 9mm was smooth, did not feel like I was shooting a 9mm. Baby Rock was snappy. No the shot well.
I was in Livengood Feed Store in Lockhart earlier and they had a plain RIA 1911 in .38 Super for $499. I got my first. 38 Super last year and love it. The recoil is very smooth.AZ Refugee,
Fyi, I have a RIA 1911 on "back order" in .38 SUPER. = The SATX vendor is telling me 3-4 weeks to delivery.
(I have shot one of the RIA pistols, that belongs to a local Deputy Constable & it shoots NICE with Plus P ammo. - The 9mm & .38Super are identical except for caliber.)
.38 SUPER is legal in both Portugal & Italy

I am tempted to get one in .38 Super, but from what I have read, there is no benefit over 9mms unless you reload. I can definitely see why you are after one though to live abroad.
9mm 1911 are great shooters
AZ Refugee; All,
I suspect that come Monday that I'll head to Lockhart for a RIA 1911 clone & BBQ for lunch, presuming that it hasn't been sold already.
ALL that I'll change on the .38 Super is the grips (I have some downright handsome ones already.) & change out the hammer for a COMMANDER-style hammer that won't bite the web of my left hand.
(Anyone want a set of 1911 Asian hardwood grips??)
yours, satx
