Those kids are getting sold. Period. There are people who buy them and do exactly as SATX has described. In fact, I know of an entire school of kids who were bought in the same manner.
I can assure you. Fritz, in his story, and others who do that activity are angels of mercy. If they don’t buy that kid, she becomes a disposable prostitute.
how do you not understand that?
Exactly.. explain that one, and you will go down in history as a true genius. And she continues to get re-elected.
I have no retort.......

Sad fact of life is that these "do-gooder's" think one of two things. That they are really changing the world and making a difference, or they do it so they can think of themselves as good people doing a good thing.
The first is simply naivete, in thinking they are really doing some good and changing the world, and nothing could be further from the truth. The second is for a more self-serving function.
With their actions, these do-gooders are enablers, whether they think so or not. What about the tens of thousands they don't purchase?
A life saved is a life saved. Sounds like you are OK with young girls being sold as prostitutes. The "do-gooders" are not, and I support their efforts to extract kids from horrible situations. IMHO, saving a child from slave labor or prostitution is a really good thing. Not sure how you could reason yourself into a position to think its not. It would be awesome to save them all, but its not possible. Maybe if more people would give to the effort more could be saved.
The reality is that those who are doing that work put their lives at risk, consider it a calling, and the fact that you don't know their names is proof they are not doing it for recognition. Some in fact have been killed when their secret was exposed. They thought it a worthy enough cause that they actually gave their life for it.

Why not do the do-gooder thing by buying the slave but also kill whoever delivers her? Then hunt down and kill the person who originally offered the girl for sale...along with everyone they're hanging out with at the time.
I kinda think it's possible for do-gooders to actually do some good but it takes a tad more dedication than it sounds like folks are willing to undertake.
After all, if you live in a place where slaves are still sold, isn't the rule of law sufficiently tenuous that it should be possible to take unilateral action and still escape any real repercussions?
PS - This is really weird. I'm disturbed by the fact that I don't know if I'm joking or not...
