Removal/Disabling Rack Detent on Remington870?

I've got an 870 that is ex-NG Armory.you can rack a shell into it by pumping action,it dous not have detent on the ihs of the receiver.

My father picks up 870 and it takes magnum shells,has an adjusta be shoke barrel

It has a dent on the left haand side and must be held in to rack a shell in.

This is problemtic has dad was born with birth defect in his left hand and arm.as his gotten older this has prevented him from using his pump shortgun repeatedly

Is there a way to ''delete'' the detent that is require to be pushed in to acutate the pump mechanism?

Trade his 870 for a Mossberg 500. Or install one of these:

Pulling the trigger will allow it to be racked too without hitting the lever.

Hopefully the chamber is empty and keep it pointed in a safe direction.

Or just trade him.

Pictures would go a long way in threads like these, I haven’t seen an 870 with the features you attribute to your dad’s. Are you telling us that yours doesn’t have the lever to the left of the trigger guard?
