Remington 5 mm Magnum

Has anyone ever used one of these? I have had one and it was one of the best guns I have ever shot. I wouldn't mind picking up a cheap one to have another since they now make the ammo for it. It will outshoot the 22 mag. and any of the 17 rimfires.

Nope. It was discontinued two years after I was born. While I'm sure it performs better then 17hmr and 22mag. It doesn't perform on availability or price.


For a reason it never made it to being mainstream. If I need more punch then a 17hmr, Ill get a 22mag. If I need more punch and range then that, Ill get a 204ruger. If I need more then that, Ill move up the latter. While I think older rounds are cool. I still want a round I can buy at walmart. With a pick of three or more manufacturers.

I'd love to shoot a 5mm. Then Id love to hand the rifle back to the owner and go hunting with my pocket full of 17HMR.....I got on sale at wally world.
